I'm a very "step-by-step/where is my instruction manual?" type person and your career manual is so exactly what I need to organize my life and my career. I love that it DOES include my life and not just my career and pretty much puts equal emphasis on both. I'm up to the Goals, Projects, and Tasks, section of the book and already, I can tell how useful it will be to my life and how successful it will help me to grow to be. Because it's set up step-by-step, I'll easily be able to track my progress and know why something is (or isn't) working. I really haven't encountered anything else like it, and I want to thank you both so much for putting the time and energy into this manual. I'm really excited to keep making progress throughout the manual and in turn, in my career.
After completing The Savvy Actor's "Turn Your Craft Into Your Business" course, I continue to work with The Savvy Actor Career Manual as I attain each goal. I find it not only a valuable resource for My acting work, but also to organize many other areas of my life. It helps me to stay on track and remain focused on long and short term goals. The career manual is a must-have for all actors, especially those who are starting out. As an actor and a marketer, I strongly believe that it is a vital tool for actors to have because they must know how to approach their career as a business and this manual facilitates that.
OK. When I took this class, I had no idea the amount of work I needed to do as a business to become a True business. This manual along with the class has given me a solid focus in my career and I am so grateful. I have prioritize my career and now I am on a clear path. I thought that as a New York actor that I was suppose to be pursuing Theater or Musical Theater first and then Film and TV will come. Wrong. What ever your heart and true desires are sending out to the universe, you should be pursuing that first. For me, it was Film, then TV and then Theater fell somewhere in fourth or fifth. I was shocked. I changed my focus and I booked over 16 films this year. 3 indie films and 11 student films. I have a clear understanding of my type, how to sell me, and how to have a successful agent meeting. And... I had my first successful agent. She invited me back for a second meeting. YAY!!
this career manual is excellent. lots of very specific tools to help you get smarter and more active in your approach...working through the exercises actually makes me excited to be doing the "business" part that i used to dread so much. having a path and the tools is very empowering, and that's what you can expect from working out of this book.
This manual is truly a must-have... If you dedicate yourself to working through it all you will undoubtedly find yourself more organized and focused. I am in control of my career now because of the tools I gained from this manual!
