A number of years ago he invited me to co-teach with him and I signed on. It was an eye opener. His passion, dedication, care, and careful treatment of his students was a joy to behold. I always learn when I teach and this class was no exception. I kept re-assessing my own craft as I watched John open up pathways for both new actors and those coming in to brush up their chops. I worked with him on a theatrical production spawned in class and found his inventiveness and total dedication an exciting and inspiring thing to behold. John Walcutt is an amazing acting teacher/ coach! His classes are always interesting and make me want to be the best that I can be in acting. We get to work on whatever it is that we need improvement on. John is always so kind and caring about each and every single student in his class. Any help or any question that you may have, John will always be there for you. The class makes me want to be the best actor that I can be! Thanks to John Walcutt. He is really great!

This is right where I want to be! A great, GREAT teacher, who I watched Guest-Star this week on both CRIMINAL MINDS and IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA (drama and comedy!), and who I've seen in many movies (including TITANIC and LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE-2 of my favorites!). One girl in our class just booked THE LEAD in the new Lion's Gate feature about The Supremes. Another girl in our class won Best Short Film at Robert DeNiro's Tribeca Film Festival last week... THIS IS WHY I CAME TO HOLLYWOOD! :P

I've sampled many classes since I came to L.A. and this is, for me, perfect. I've done quite a bit of theatre in U.S. and abroad, but of course came here for film and TV work. I didn't want to be in a class of wannabes and people aspiring to do beer commercials (not that I have anything against making money--that is, why I'm here!), and I wanted to be coached by someone with experience and who's on the scene now. John Walcutt is a great teacher: smart, professional, funny, kind and strong. The class level is very high, eventhough beginners seem to love it also. John puts you on camera as often as you like, and watching the results is the lesson. His gentle coaching is challenging, specific and encouraging. His patience is truly remarkable. And the price is really, REALLY good. GO!

It looks like it's all been said here. So, what I'll add is this: I've read all these reviews, and reviews of the competition. If you want the real deal? IMDB not only John Walcutt, but some of these students writing reviews: Gregory Itzin! Jamie McShane! Stevie Long! Alexandra Baretto! Al Vincente! Karissa Vacker...These are GOOD professional actors. And the fact that John coaches them, as well as serious beginners; and treats everyone in the same professional, positive manner, well, if you want to work with a PRO, here you go. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it! This is the best class in town.

John is an astonishingly wonderful actor, who brings that same passion, enthusiasm, and talent to his teaching. It's a pleasure being in his class because not only is the atmosphere supportive and nurturing, but John allows you to feel as if you're in the same boat with him. He creates an environment where you feel as if you're an equivalently worthy artist. There's useful critique and positive feedback without the stigma of being spoken down to. I heartily recommend this class!

Love, Love, Love John!!!. In his class he allows each actor to flourish as an indiviual and provides his actors/students a safe place/home in which to exercise and expand on their craft. Its a positive and supportive place to work and grow and John is truly an inspirational teacher, talent and warm spirit to top it all off.

Excellent class. Wonderful and generous teacher who not only has deep understanding his craft but knows intuitively how best to help each individual student develop his/her skills. The classes take place in a supportive and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I am constantly amazed at the focus and attention each student receives in John's class. If there is someone who is completely passionate about the craft of acting and genuinely wants you to succeed, its John.
All of his comments and adjustments for the actors are spot on! The transformation of a performance in a single class is in-cre-di-ble.
There is no substitute for experience, and John's got it! (see his IMDB) No matter what your level, from beginner to advanced this is the place to grow and gain confidence by working with a real expert who's down to earth and supportive!

John has helped me gain confidence and feel comfortable in front of the camera.
He is funny, supportive, energetic and chock full of practical information for auditioning. I was up working every week, learning and honing my skills. I have recommended John to all of my friends. He is an incredible teacher.

This is a wonderful class for actors at all stages of their careers. John's insight on the complexities of the business apply to all. Each student is encouraged to assess themselves as an actor and ultimately is given the freedom to work on any project they feel would be beneficial to their individual growth. John's an amazing teacher/coach and I highly recommend his class.

I am a trained, working actor, however, I felt my on camera technique was holding me back from booking more. After a long dry spell of not booking I wandered into John's class. After only two weeks of putting into practice what John teaches I had an audition for a role on an NBC show. Booked it! The very first audition I had after working with John. Enough said.

John combines his insights from a solid acting and directing career with generosity towards those in his class -- a generosity of time given and of caring about students as individuals. He helps students learn to critique his/her own work and set goals for improvement in audition technique and approaching the Business as a business!

John is one of the most generous acting coaches I've had in Los Angeles...both with his time, energy and talent. Considering he is both a working actor and teacher, it's amazing how willing he is to take the time to put things aside and make you feel like your career is the most important thing in that moment. As a teacher, he is both nurturing and critical when it counts.

hi im darla ochoa and i'm with macker entertainment well let me start by saying that macker is a great place to be if you wanna be a actress,actor or model i've had a great time being there my teacher is named john walcutt he is a great actor and producer he gaved me confidence and he's a great friend if it wasnt for him i would of gaved up but he believes i could be a good actress .....i choosed macker entertainment because it's been know for finding young talent....macker really is a great place to be ...

John Walcutt has been my acting coach for almost 4 years. He's taught me everything I know and trust me I'm stubborn. He is a great actor and will take the time to tell you how your work can be better. He's done so much film and television work that having a talented leader is an example of great auditions and hard work. He is highly suggested.

Everything everyone has said is spot on. He is not only incredibly sweet and caring, he truly is an amazing actor, a wonderful teacher, and overall, a great pleasure to work with and know. John is encouraging, helpful, and honest. He brings his real world experience to help you understanding the industry and tips to help you out while honing the creative side. A HIGHLY recommended class!
